Our Solution
ALTA provided a solution that consisted of job studies to identify the specific language skills and levels required to perform each job, testing to verify the current language skills of each employee, customized English language training to improve the skills and documentation review to identify language simplification.

ALTA analyzed the positions to determine the exact language skills necessary to perform the job. ALTA then identified the specific terminology that the flight attendants used and created tests that determined whether or not the flight attendants could speak the language. This was done in twenty different languages.

Language translation was not the only issue in ALTA's solution. Graphics required modification both for cultural content and for adapting to Arabic rather than English. Of course ALTA also adjusted the layout so that the books reflected the right-to-left text of Arabic.

ALTA created customized training programs that addressed the accent and cultural issues. Included in the solution were accent assessments and train-the-trainer programs that allowed the call-center company to handle the growth of their business in India and the Philippines through internal training resources.
