Language Training
Many international moves require that the employee (and spouse) be proficient in a new language. The time to prepare for the move is often quite limited and priorities must be set. ALTA is used to working in this environment and offers a range of language training options from intensive language training at our training center to telephone or internet training on a very flexible schedule. ALTA also offers training in all business languages including the less common languages.
Living and Working in Another Culture
Moving from one location to another is a stressful and time-consuming event for employees and their families. When the move is from one country to another, the stress multiplies because nothing is familiar. In these circumstances the stress leads to a quite high failure rate, which negatively affects the employee and the organization. Many organizations understand the importance of preparing the employee and family for an international move by providing relocation training. ALTA provides this training with a focus on four areas: 1. understanding cultural differences, 2. applying cultural understanding in a work environment, 3. 'how to' do things like shopping, dealing with the neighbors, etc. in the new location, and 4. how to deal with culture shock.
Employee Document Translation
In an international move a number of documents may be needed at the new location. These are things like educational credentials, police records, health records, etc. ALTA provides rapid and accurate translations that can be certified, if necessary.
