Foreign & English Language Skill Development
Senior level executives usually have the language skills required by the organization to some degree; however, polishing of those skills may be needed, for example, communicating more effectively in English, or improving basic communication in Spanish. Developing language skill improvement for executives must consider the available time and schedule. Senior level executives may need to make speeches or business presentations in countries other than their native country. Although speech writers may be available to craft an effective message and presentation in the executive's home language, speech writers rarely have the expertise to modify the content to be culturally targeted to the foreign audience. If the speech is given in whole or part in a second language, inaccuracies in word choice, pronunciation or content can spell disaster. ALTA offers a range of services to assist executives. These include providing translations of speeches to rewriting of speeches to make them culturally more effective to working directly with the executive in practicing the delivery.
Working With Interpreters
In an international business environment executives often find themselves communicating through interpreters. This is frequently viewed as a slow, frustrating and inaccurate event.
