How can I get my candidates tested?
The first step is to contact us to register your organization. (Please note that ALTA does not administer individual tests.) Once your registration is complete, you may order tests by telephone or email. The tests will be sent to your designated company contact the same day if we are notified between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time (0900 to 1800) Monday through Friday except holidays.
How does the Writing Test work?
ALTA will deliver writing tests and proctoring instructions so that tests can be administered according to your organization's timetable. The test contains a selection of questions that will require the candidate to perform various tasks, such as writing a letter, describing a procedure, or expressing an opinion. Once the tests are completed, they can be sent back to ALTA for scoring. The evaluator will be checking for how well the candidate comprehends the requests, expresses his or her ideas, and uses the mechanics of the language such as grammar, vocabulary, and spelling (or character selection). An overall score is assigned according to our protocol. Score reports are sent to your designated company contact within two business days.
