Wachovia Bank
A representative from Wachovia's marketing department contacted us about their consumer banking brochure. Some of their branches were now servicing significant numbers of Hispanic clients and they needed a Spanish version of their brochure that matched a very specific writing style used in the English. ALTA worked with translators and typesetters to produce a Wachovia-style Spanish version that now serves the bank's Hispanic clients. ALTA provides turnkey desktop publishing services for most languages. We support both PC and MAC platforms. Newport News Shipbuilding
A local design firm working with Newport News approached us with this interesting project. The designers wanted to create a dual language English / Arabic brochure so that the layout played to the right-to-left format of the Arabic. Instead of creating two brochures, they reversed the layout so that when the binding was on the left, you were looking at the English version. When flipped, instead of looking at the back of an English brochure, you were looking at the front of the Arabic. Since the layout for English and Arabic were supposed to be similar, it was important to typeset the Arabic so that it was symmetrical to the English. When the reader reached the center of the brochure, English and Arabic met, creating a strong marketing message for their potential clients abroad. The Coca-Cola Company
A representative from The Coca-Cola Company contacted us about a promotional piece they were creating for the Korean Grocer's Association in New York. They were concerned about both the language and cultural issues involved. ALTA provided translation and typesetting services in addition to a full review of the piece content, colors and the use of the Korean Association's logo for any possible cultural problems or offenses.
